The problem with King Beans

Ah, summer time....the sun, the outdoor gardening and the produce from the garden....
Now as you know, gardening hasn't been happening much and things are looking a little "ratty".....
One thing on the list today was to figure out something to extend Hubby's trellis for the King Beans, which by now have gotten a good 2 feet beyond the trellis. (look at earlier posts from last year about King beans.....)
So, while Hubby was listening to the radio, I went outside to look for something to give us the height we need.
I found it! An old round trellis that was in the garden, presently being decoration, so I got up into the raised bed and slipped it over Hubby's trellis....It worked! Now we have a good 5+ feet in height.....
The old dry vines from a previous use is still on this trellis, and I figured it would give the new vines more grip on a metal trellis, so I left those on.
We tied the trellis to the other, just for a bit of stability....

And then we tied the other two corners to the finials for more stability....just in case we get Santa Ana Winds.....
This is the view from our back door....in the foreground are the tomatoes....
(The wires are in the neighbor's yard, not ours and no where near the new metal trellis...just a bad shot...)
I hope you had a great and productive day...
Nancy
