The painting continues

So, I promised to keep you up on the painting progress. Today, a great deal was done. Including an early morning text to the painter informing him that the white wasn't white and we needed a different white.....aside from it costing more because they would have to redo the facia and of course go get the white, it wasn't a biggie, and he agreed, it wasn't white....
Isn't funny how a white you use inside on everything can be really yellow outside? Odd how that works. Oh well, by the end of the day, all the whites were white.....that made me feel so much better.
So, this morning the trim color (Anonymous) went on the areas around windows, doors and on the various areas like that that. That color is a darker version of French Linen (ASCP) but in latex. In most light it shows quite a bit of green, a sagey green. But there is a great deal of gray in it too...
This is with the plastic still on and the facia is still the wrong white....

The color around the windows draws your eye to the window....I have wanted to do this for about 10 years....
Here is a view, through all the stuff moved out of the way, so you can see it with those shutters that I made, now painted black and in place....The black draws out the gray in the color....
Here is the view of the front door with trim painted that color...At this point we felt the door should remain white. The way the door faces, in the summer it is very intense heat...we were worried about warping of the door...we are going to live with it white...
Excuse the mess in front and into the garage...But I wanted you to see how it was painted and the shutters I made for here too. Our painter did a great job priming and painting and then putting them up.
Lastly, the garage door, now the same color as the house with the trim around it in the trim color. This looks and feels so much better than painting it white....
See the facia and the posts...yes, they are white.
The painter is coming back tomorrow to give things a final coat, clean some things up, put back lights and furniture that he and the guys moved. They are also going to paint the two trellises that go in the awful windows of the garage....
They have done a huge amount of work on the house! Most of it was repair and the house feels like it has been remodeled!
I will post pictures when things are back where they belong....
Then, I will begin working on the front flower bed.....

Oh! And this is Tomatomania at Roger's Gardens this weekend....all their tomatoes are in.....so if you are in the area, they have a great selection!
Have a great weekend!

Nancy- That looks GREAT! It is absolutely wonderful! I love the trim color, too. I can see a cast of green to it and I love that. What a great makeover.

That makes a lot of sense to leave your door white if the full sun hits it all the time. xo Diana
