Patio Redo continued

I wanted to show you more of the patio...
If you remember, yesterday we got the patio high spots ground down. They were a major trip hazard and with lots of parties coming up and a large variety of ages attending, it had to be addressed. Besides, I am rather clumsy myself. So, after looking into completely redoing the patio and getting 6 quotes from paver companies, concrete and stamped concrete we decided that at this time redoing the patio was not in the budget. So, we decided to renovate and work with what we have. Yes, the patio has cracks...fill them with that crack stuff. Done
High spots...grind them. Old wood that came out from when the patio was laid about 30 years ago...replace wood with gravel. We even got the gravel that is tumbled and rounded, not sharp.
Ok, it isn't what I had envisioned, but it will work.
So, here is what we have....
We are still moving things like BBQs around and all, but this will work fine...
Here is a close up of the ground down areas...

Total cost?
$6 for gravel (one bag did it all), and $8 for cement caulking. Not bad. And did I mention that the guy ground the patio for free?? Yes, Happy Mother's Day!
So, I am happy. It is useable, and less dangerous, and prettier than it was last week!
With the flowers that are blooming.....

 Awesome!!
So, last night we enjoyed dinner on the patio, a dinner of Quinoa Crab salad.
What is that you say?? It is pronounced "Keen-wah" and it is a grain that the Aztecs grew. It is high in protein, tastes really good and it goes really well as a salad...Who would have guessed?
So, I picked and shelled some fresh peas, added green onion, tomato, basil and imitation crab and voila! It was a great salad out on the patio! What could be better?
Hope the rest of your day goes well.....
Nancy
